On finding advices

During the peak of the pandemic last year, when everything was horrific, and everyone was locked inside their house, I was also at the turning point of my career. At that time, I had just started a new job after leaving a company where I had worked for four years. It took much work to begin working at a place where you did not have a chance to meet people in person. Also, I was not used to the remote working style then. And it’s even worse (or I thought so at that time) that I found out I could not fit into this new environment.
It was exhausting. I was depressed.
And it was not easy to say that I wanted to quit.
What did I do?
One thing I am grateful for is that I am blessed with good people, talented people, and understanding people around me.
I came to an older “brother” in my network and talked to him for 2 hours straight, hearing from his perspective.
I came to the boss that recruited me for that job and, very honestly, shared with her what I was going through.
I came to some of my best friends and heard from them, even though they were struggling.
I got very, very, very good advice. I got support. I got the backup to go ahead.
And I went ahead and quit that job after almost two months.
It was a good decision for that company and for me. Those two months were valuable to me, too; I learned and grew A LOT.
So?
In tough times, the best you can do is to seek sound advice from good people, people who have been there and done that. They will not give you the solution, but they will give you a better image of what might be lying ahead! And that can SAVE LIFE!
